21st Century Workforce Certificate Class

This certification is in the virtual learning center to be used with individual instructors. As each competency is completed, the student will receive a ‘ticket’ stating what competency has been mastered (at least 80%). After completing the first 6 competencies & received the 6 ‘tickets,’ the student will receive the 21st Century Workforce certificate. Please contact the RSU#3 Adult Education Program for more information and details as to how this certification now works

Career Preparation Workshop

This class helps students learn new skills and knowledge specifically geared toward increasing job potential. Students could build a resume, cover letter, and complete a sample job application. The course will also provide interviewing training. Students could take home a portfolio if they desire. This class will only be offered in the Virtual Learning Center.  Students will have the opportunity to pick and choose any or all of the topics covered. Students can start any time during the semester, and can stop when they have acquired the desired skills.

Commercial Driver License Class A Session II

Aug 22, 2017 at 7:30 am, runs for 5 weeks

80 hours classroom instruction, mostly during the first two weeks. Some lab work and driving during the first two weeks. Beginning the third week, students will be doing nearly all lab work and driving. Students will only need to be on site part time once the 80 hours class time is over (4 hours/day). Students will be scheduled to take the permit test after the class work is completed. Students will receive a minimum of 44 hours behind-the-wheel, consisting of at least 12 hours on the road. The remaining behind-the-wheel time will be spent on the off-road driving range, working on maneuvers needed to pass the license test. Lab time consists of inspecting vehicles, hooking and unhooking trailers, and possibly other hand-on learning activities. Cost per student for materials varies: A DOT physical is needed prior to class ($100). Permit application ($35), and each additional endorsement is $10 (tank, hazmat, double/triple trailer).
